We add dental implants in stages.

It all starts with the initial tooth extraction. We use a bone grafting procedure to fill in the space where the tooth used to be. You’ll then need to heal for 3 to 6 months before any additional work can be done.

At your next appointment we’ll take a series of x-rays and use computer mapping before the oral surgeon places the dental implant, a titanium post, in the space where the tooth used to be. These images help us make this into a quick, easy outpatient procedure.

You’ll then need another 3-6 months to heal again, but don’t worry. You won’t have to work around a gap in your mouth for the entire time. That’s because we’ll give you a temporary tooth to tide you over until the final stage.

Once you are fully healed, we will take an impression of your implant. Our Master Lab Technician Joe then will create a beautiful, realistic crown or bridge which will fill the space permanently. This is attached to the titanium post, where it goes on to look, feel, and function just like a real tooth. In fact, you might find yourself forgetting that you ever lost a tooth in the first place.
